The Challenge
The Longest Lap
How it will work
Over a six-month sabbatical, I'll run a continuous loop of mainland Britain - covering every mile of the England and Wales coast paths, and staying as close to the coastline as possible, on as few roads as I can, through Scotland.
I won't be doing it alone. Along the route, I'll walk and run 5K stretches with around 500 people from the Move Against Cancer community, through pop-up Coastal 5K Your Way events. Some will run, some will walk, some will be taking their first steps back towards activity. All of them are the point.
I set off on Saturday 27 March 2027, with the Edinburgh 5K Your Way group, heading north.
The above map is a placeholder. We will update before the site goes live with details added to the map including start and end points.
Move with Lucy
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
